A New Jersey insurance adjuster was sentenced to prison today for taking part in a scheme to defraud the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and insurance companies of at least $900,000. The U.S. Attorneys Office said a federal judge handed down a 32-month prison term for Robert Napolitano, 55, of Clifton. Napolitano made a deal in 2011 with a claims manager at the turnpike authority who was responsible for recouping insurance money for damage caused by motorists to the agencys property, officials said. As part of the deal, Napolitano would evaluate the damaged property, draft a repair estimate and negotiate with the insurance company, officials said.
