Baltimore Inspector General Focusing On ’Uniform Fraud’

New cases handled by Baltimore’s inspector general highlight an emphasis on "uniform fraud" — targeting worker’s compensation and disability cases in the fire and police departments, according to data in the fiscal 2015 annual report. The most new cases handled by the inspector general involved the departments of public works and transportation, mirroring recent trends. Over the 2013-2015 period, those departments accounted for the most cases — each represented 18 percent of total cases, the report said. Cases involving the fire and police departments increased significantly in fiscal 2015.
