Indiana Attys Reprimanded for Ads

The Indiana Supreme Court, on August 8, publicly reprimanded Indianapolis lawyers James R. Keller and S. Jack Keller, of the firm of Keller & Keller, for a series of television advertisements suggesting that insurance companies were more likely to settle claims once they found out that Keller & Keller attorneys represented the claimants. The advertisements depicted actors in “fictional dramatizations” of discussions being held by insurance company claims adjusters who, after learning that the Keller & Keller firm was involved, said “Let’s settle this one.” Well-known actor Robert Vaughn then appeared on screen and suggested that viewers should call Keller & Keller. The Court found that the commercials violated two parts of the Professional Conduct Rules for Indiana attorneys.
