A man from Riviera Beach is accused of insurance fraud after surveillance video tripped up his story and demand for more than $250,000.

Ulysses Demond Drummond, 26, of Riviera Beach, faces one count of insurance fraud following his arrest this week.

According to the arrest report from the Department of Financial Services, Drummond claimed he slipped and fell on water in the produce aisle at the Winn-Dixie supermarket on North Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens on June 27, 2019.

Drummond claimed he twisted his ankle, leg and lower back. Crews with Emergency Medical Services took Drummond to JFK Hospital.

In January, Drummond hired an attorney and made a demand for $17,961.68 to cover his unpaid medical expenses and another $250,000 for a settlement.
